Design the Organisational Change

Organisations face many challenges that are complex and without an obvious solution. Often ideas with the most potential for impact, come from a collaborative effort across the organisation rather than solely from senior leadership.

Together we question and explore, to help you to discover and chart the changes to make. It’s often a mix of culture, function, structure and technology.

When key people from your workscape help to design in this phase, you are more likely to see people owning and engaged in the change process. Change can be challenging but it doesn’t have to be difficult. Getting people to design the change and innovate can often make it an easier journey through the terrain of change.

All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost.
~ J R Tolkien

Who is it for?

For organisations that see a need to change and don’t know what change to make. Mapping the change may lead to a learning program, or a series of activities in a holistic change program to change culture, a practice, tools, processes, or conditions.

What’s involved?

It will depend on your challenge and your circumstances. It may require all, or any, of the following:

  • Facilitated workshops to explore ideas of change collaboratively
  • Using business design tools to discover and apply useful knowledge
  • Conversations/research with stakeholders to better understand the problem (or opportunity!) space
  • Visualising your desired destination
  • Mapping the future state with models or diagrams
  • Business experiments to learn what change will have the desired impact

How will it help?

Your organisation gains:

  • Clarity about the change you want to make
  • Confidence in your decision about worthy change destination(s)
  • A ‘coalition of the willing’ to lead and enable change
  • People inspired and ready to champion change
